The Born This Way Foundation, started by Lady Gaga, advocates equality, bravery, and individualism. The full website gets launched in 2012, but you can check Lady Gaga's Twitter feed for more news about the organization. 

Perhaps one of the most well-known gay rights organizations, the NOH8 Campaign was started during the controversy of Proposition 8 (ban on gay marriage). Unfortunately, the bill was passed and marriage was banned for anyone in the LGBT community. However, the campaign continues to gain thousands of supporters, especially on the NOH8 Campaign Twitter profile. 

Another well-known LGBT campaign is the Human Rights Campaign. They advocate "equality across America," and create events to promote LGBT equality in the USA. HRC also advocates protection against hate crimes, including bullying. They too have a Twitter account.

Actup.org advocates HIV awareness and LGBT rights across the globe by reporting on the latest news. Their stories have been translated into 52 different languages, which is a significant resource for supporters around the world. They often update their Twitter account.

In the deaf community, Purple helps deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals by offering interpreter services and advocating civil rights. What they do for the deaf community is truly inspiring. Here is their Twitter account.
